The course is for experienced Quantum GIS and GIS users from universities, public administrations and enterprises based on the Quantum GIS (I) Introduction knowledge of Quantum GIS. Special attention is placed on interoperability with external applications such as GRASS, PostGIS or R, and working with external plugins
Instructor is Otto Dassau. He is current member of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) of the Quantum GIS project and active in the GRASS project and the german FOSSGIS eV. For more than 10 years he conducts regular training courses and workshops on Quantum GIS, GRASS and other open source GIS applications (see menu references).

Topics of the 1-day course
- Working with PostGIS as an external spatial database
- Working with the GRASS Plugin
- Working with the OpenStreetMap Plugin
- Working with the GPS Tools
- Working with QGIS Mapserver
- Working with the GDAL Tools
- Binding of R for geostatistical analysis
The course is planned individually with the participants. Other topics can be added on request.
Exercise material
For this training, participants receive extensive training data, an exercise script, and a current, printed version of the Quantum GIS manual to be able to deepen the knowledge after the course. In addition, each participant receives a certificate of participation upon successful completion.
Required skills
Knowledge of Quantum GIS. Optimal is to visit the Quantum GIS introduction course.

Costs
400 € + VAT - This includes all course materials, beverages and snacks, and lunch. Students, apprentices and unemployed people can participate at reduced rates, if the course is not fully booked.
