The course is for experienced GRASS and GIS users from universities, public administrations and enterprises and provides a deeper knowledge of 3D hydrogeological analysis with GRASS GIS. In addition to the GRASS 6.4 version, improvements of the hydrological modules in GRASS 7 are discussed, too.
Instructor is Sören Gebbert. He has been active for many years in the GRASS GIS project, developed numerous GRASS modules, particularly for the analysis of hydro(geo)logical tasks and has several years experiences with training and workshops on GRASS (see menu references).

Topics of the 2-day training
- Creation of a groundwater model and its conditions
- Calculation of groundwater levels and water balance
- Influence of a dam on the groundwater
- Flow paths of surface contamination
- Calculation of the spread of contamination in groundwater
- 3D modeling of ground water models and groundwater contamination
- Interpolation, and visualization with the software ParaView
Exercise material
For this training will be provided extensive training data and the data matched exercise script.
Required skills
Knowledge of GRASS GIS. Optimally, the visit of the GRASS (I) Introduction.

Costs
€ 850 + VAT - This includes all course materials, beverages and snacks, and lunch. Students, apprentices and unemployed people can participate at reduced rates, if the course is not fully booked.
