German QGIS User Meeting in Rapperswil |

On 6 May 2011 the second german speaking QGIS user meeting took place at the HSR in Rapperswil, Switzerland. The meeting was organized by the QGIS User Group Switzerland.
Objectives of the meeting were:
- Exchange of ideas between QGIS users - networking
- Contact between users and developers
- Presentation of the QGIS opportunities (especially for new, interested users)
- Presentation of the new features in the current development version
- Presentation of current case studies
- Coordination of future developments
Otto Dassau contributed two topics to the event:
- 09:10 - 09:40 am: Reports from the last QGIS developer meetings and what's new in QGIS 1.7? (with Werner Macho from Vienna)
- 02pm- 05:pm Beginners QGIS workshop (for beginners). (with Werner Macho from Vienna and Dr. Andreas Neumann from Uster, Switzerland)
With more than 50 participants, the meeting was well attended and provided on the basis of the papers the opportunity for many interesting discussions.
